A designer armchair with soft and rounded lines will bring informal and refined comfort to the home. The idea for this chair, which changed the history of upholstery, comes from Afra & Tobia Scarpa, who designed it in 1969. Molded polyurethane foam, new for the time, inspired them to create furniture for unusual relaxation. A metal structure holds the chair together, and the eco-friendly inner padding, which for the first time needs no internal support, creates unrivaled comfort. The base is made of recyclable wood panels with low formaldehyde emissions. The chair's padding is BioFoam® microballoons. The blown fiber fill is made from 100% recycled PET from Plastic Bank®. The outer frame is made of powder coated steel.
