Italian factory Cassina offers a new interpretation of the famous Utrecht armchair model, created in 1935 by Dutch designer and architect Gerrit Thomas Rietveld. It is a kind of anthropometric response to the increasing size of modern generations. The frame, back and seat are made of solid fir and poplar plywood; the armrests are made of solid poplar. The legs are made of black plastic. The polyurethane upholstery of the chair can be covered with fabric or leather with fine offset stitching of natural color. The factory also produces a limited edition of this chair, for which designer Bertjan Pot has developed a special jacquard fabric with a bright geometric pattern, the triangles on which are never repeated. For children, there is a smaller "Baby Utrecht" model.
